Why should you visit us?

The Rēzekne district is characteristic of rather unchanged, mosaic-like landscape.
The legendary Mākoņkalns hill (247 m above sea level) with Volkenberga castle ruins providing an excellent view over the Rāzna lake are popular attractions among tourists.
The ancient crafts as weaving, wickerwork and ceramics are still popular in the Rēzekne district. Having contacted the ceramics workshop beforehand, it is possible to visit it and take part in heating of a brick-kiln.
Pūdnīku Skūla, a Cultural Foundation group founded by E.Vasilevskis, the famous ceramist, offers the travel route Visiting the Latgale potters and round the Rāzna lake.
The home-museum "Kolnasāta" belonging to F. Trasuns, the initiator of Latgale revival, clergyman and writer, is a popular place for arrangement of different cultural activities. Here the exposition on F. Trasuns, the writer, J.Klīdzējs, as well as a collection of ancient household articles can be viewed.
In the Viļāni Forest Museum, on the other hand, about 100 Latgale forest wildlife exponents are exhibited.
