Slutiski village is situated in Slutiski, Naujene rural municipality, on the right bank of the river Daugava. In the materials of museum Slutiski as a village was mentioned in 1785.
Rectangle log house buildings covered with gabled of for-sided roof are on the basis of all buildings. Peasants’ traditions of building house can be felt here. Decoration of houses is similar to our neighbors – Slavic peoples building traditions, which are expressed in facades, in luxuriantly, decorated windows, doors and swards.
In 1986 archaeological excavation was made in the territory of villages and a settlement (15th- 16th century) and burials (15th- 17th century) were discovered there. From 1998 it is considered to be ethnographical monument.
